The photograph of Emerson Street, Napier, appears to have been taken in the 1940s from the style of vehicles driving along the street. There is a Hospital Hill bus at the crossing. The T & G building is on the far left, the colonnade is at the end of the street, the E & D building is on the right, and A B Hurst’s building is visible in the centre. There are a large number of people out shopping. Underneath the photograph is written Emerson Street, Napier. N.Z. 6546.
