About this object
A photograph of the New Zealand Federation of Country Women's Institutes Committee taken at the inaugural conference of Women's Institutes held at Omatua, Rissington, on 27 October 1925. The conference was attended by members of the Woodville Country Women's Institute, Norsewood Country Women's Institute, Otawhao Country Women's Institute, Havelock North Country Women's Institute, Rissington Country Women's Institute, and Taradale Country Women's Institute. The women pose for the photograph in front of Omatua Homestead.

A handwritten note that accompanies the photograph identifies fifteen of the sitters as follows: Mrs Moir (Taradale), Mrs Horn (Taradale), Mrs Campbell (Taradale), Mrs Bucley (Taradale), Mrs Farquhar (Taradale), Mrs Corrigan (Rissington), Mrs Ellis (Taradale), Mrs Cargill (Taradale), Mrs Hutchinson (Rissington), Mrs Bond (Havelock North), Mrs Mulqueeny (Rissington), Mrs Nielson (Norsewood), Miss Spencer (Rissington), Mrs Simpson, Mrs McPhee (Otawhao).

The photograph is housed in a scrapbook titled: History of Rissington Country Women's Institute.
