Manuscript and maps attributed to Patrick Grant regarding research into the Waipawa River.
a) Two copies of photocopied maps of various branches of the Waipawa River. Includes a contents section with letter index, reach name and number of sections. Maps include distance markers and point references. Circa 1977.
Maps include North Branch, Centre Branch, South Branch, Fork Section, Chalet Reach, Rimu Reach, Mill Reach, Boiler Reach, Upper Mohaka Fault, Lower Mohaka Fault, Reeves Reach, Lookout Road, Pendle Hill Reach, Fletchers Crossing Branch, Lower Middle Stream and Lower Smith Stream.
Scales are 1 to 5000, 1 to 2500, 1 to 2000, 1 to 1500 and 1 to 1250.
b) Two copies of a photocopied map entitled: Mangataura Stream - Observations of LRD, Altitude and Slope made on 18 to 21 March 1977.
Information by Patrick Grant notes that the datum for altitudes is adopted from NZMSI and is traced from aerial photographs SNZ800, C/19 and D/19.
c) Manuscript entitled: Cross-Sections A to F of the Waipawa River. Shows measurements along each cross section. Distances and height are in feet.
d) Photocopied map by Patrick Grant entitled: Upper Waipawa River. Map shows major slope change points and channel section points around Mangataura Wakarara Road to the foothills of the Ruahine Ranges. Map points from a) are highlighted.
