Brief Description
The New Zealand Rough Diary No. 3, 1918 belonged to one of the Webb children who, throughout the diary, is not identified. In the beginning of the diary under notes are lists written by Maria Webb. The details of the diary record the family's daily routine at Ormondville, family members: Maria (known as Patty) who was the children's mother, a brother Edmond and sisters Edith, Annie, Elizabeth and Alice. The family were very involved in Anglican church activities and these are part of the content. Visitors are listed and the daily comings and goings of the community. Each day the weather is described, as is the well being of Maria, who is elderly and unwell. Small snippets of information are tantalisingly given throughout.
In front of the diary is printed information about New Zealand postal regulations, phases of the moon, Post Office Savings Bank, telegrams, the Government Cabinet, the Legislative Council, Government Departments, Government Acts, Elections of Local Bodies and Births, Deaths and Marriages.
A J Webb is written on the outside of the front cover.
