About this object
The sculptor is at work designing the bronze statue of Pania. The clay mould has been finished. The sculptor is standing next to the figure. Written on the back of the photograph is: The Italian Marble Company were unwilling to disclose the name of the sculptor.
The statue was made at the Italian Marble Company, Carrara in Italy.

The date of the photograph is unknown, however the statue was unveiled on 10 June 1954, so the statue may have been made the year before.
