About this object
A photograph of the County Queen's entourage taken at Windsor Park in Hastings on 8 November 1952. One of four carnival queens, the Country Queen, Mrs Gladys Elizabeth Jane Hudson, was crowned the winner of the Hastings and District War Memorial Appeal, Queen Carnival Campaign. The photograph was taken following the crowning ceremony. The photograph shows her two flower girls, Juliet Barker and Sally Stead, and three Maids of Honour, Kathleen Beamish, Josephine Glazebrook, and Marian Stead, during a guard of honour by The Blue Wheel Boys.
