About this object
A photograph of the Country Queen, Mrs Gladys Elizabeth Jane Hudson, taken at Windsor Park in Hastings on 8 November 1952. One of four carnival queens, the Country Queen was crowned the winner of the Hastings and District War Memorial Appeal, Queen Carnival Campaign. The photograph was taken following the crowning ceremony. The Country Queen is shown being given a guard of honour by The Blue Wheel Boys.
