About this object
The glass plate negative is a group portrait of a Māori women with two children at Tokaanu. Written underneath the original photograph is: Rangihaua. This name has been crossed out and Rora substituted. The name possibly refers to the wahine. She is wearing a hei tiki. The boy and girl are not identified. The negative has been taken outdoors. Tokaanu was a settlement located at the south end of Lake Taupo, five kilometres west of Tūrangi.
