About this object
A photograph of a nest built by a pāpango or New Zealand scaup (Aythya novaeseelandiae) commonly known as the black teal, thought to have been taken at Tutira Station in the 1920s. A group of eggs can be seen in the nest, which is surrounded by harakeke or New Zealand flax.
