About this object
Written on the back of the photograph is: The Napier Crew of HMS Diomede at Trentham Camp. None of the men are identified however one would be Fred Bussell, who originally owned the photograph, and was a sailor on-board the HMS Diomede. The second identified man in the photograph, is the commander, Rear Admiral Geoffrey Blake.
The Diomedes crew assisted with recovery efforts after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
