About this object
The photograph shows the naval vessels, HMS Diomede, on the left, and HMS Dunedin, tied up to the Auckland wharf before the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The Diomede arrived in Auckland on 15 December 1930 and was under the command of Rear Admiral Geoffrey Blake.
