About this object
A photograph of the Country Queen float that featured in the Blossom Week procession held in Hastings on 13 September 1952. The procession was held as part of the Hastings and District War Memorial Appeal, Queen Carnival Campaign. The float is decorated with wool and spring flowers. The Country Queen, Mrs Gladys Elizabeth Jane Hudson (née Lyons) is seated on the float. Two young flower girls sit at her feet. The girl on the right is identified on the album page as Sally Stead. The girl on the left is possibly Juliet Barker.
