About this object
A postcard printed with a photograph of Station Street (later Russell Street), Hastings. The photograph has been taken from the road, looking towards the intersection of Station Street and Queen Street East. The Post Office stands on the corner of the intersection in the right foreground. Other businesses visible down the street include F Cassin, land and estate agent. A horse drawn cart, a car and multiple pedestrians can be seen along the road. Greetings from Hastings has been printed in red ink in the top left hand corner of the postcard.

The postcard is addressed: Mrs Pillard c/o Mrs Newman, Cameron Road, Napier. A note on the back of the postcard wishes Mrs Pillard a bright and happy New Year. It is signed with the initials J S. A green half penny stamp is affixed to the postcard in the top right hand corner. The postmark is incomplete. It reads: Hastings 4.30 P M 29 Dec.
