About this object
Mid-length studio portrait of a woman. The sitter poses for the photograph in front of a plain backdrop. Her right hand rests on the back of a cane chair. The name Bertha has been hand written in the bottom right hand corner of the photograph. The sitter is possibly Jessie Martha Tuck (later Mrs Rickard). A note on the back of the photograph reads: To Oscar with love 5th June 1906. A second note in a different hand reads: Bertha writes short-hand 150 a minute[.] Was 8 years with Mr Geo Nelson's office[.] Was head girl there[.]
