About this object
Postcard printed with a portrait of a young girl seated on the back of a large toy bear. The sitter is thought to be Maimie Mabel Edna Mace, who later married Frederick Robert Watters, Town Clerk of Napier (1931-1958).
A handwritten note on the back of the postcard reads: Toy bear outside Cotterell's Toy and China Shop. Destroyed by 1931 earthquake. Taken in 1913.
