Brief Description
Minute book of the Taradale Presbyterian Church recording the annual meetings of the Kirk Session and congregation from 16 August 1920 to 3 August 1950.
Attached to the inside front cover is a photograph of Mr John Scullen and a newspaper cutting giving details of his estate following his death on 19 August 1929. Of particular note is his bequest of £200 to the Scotch Church in Taradale, New Zealand.
At the rear of the book is the formula of subscription for elders' ordination and a list of signatures and dates of those who pledged the formula. There are also two Certificates of Title dated 24 June 1932 showing hand-drawn plans of Suburban Sections 46 and 55. Attached to the inside back cover is a handwritten report detailing the findings of the Hawke's Bay Presbytery following their Taradale Visitation, written by F W Robertson, Clerk of Presbytery. In particular, it reports on the work of the minister, Reverend Norrie.
