View of damaged buildings in Hastings taken following the Hawke's Bay earthquake in 1931. The photograph has been taken along Heretaunga Street looking at the wreckage of the premises of Bolt's Showroom (women's clothing retailer), W H Beck Chemist, William Hannah and Company (boot retailer), and Land and Heighway Limited (saddlers). An unidentified man poses for the photograph in the left foreground.
