About this object
View of Heretaunga Street, Hastings, taken following the Hawke's Bay earthquake in 1931. The street is lined with damaged buildings. Baird's Drapery and the New Zealand Hallenstein Brothers Clothing Factory are visible in the left foreground. The Pacific Hotel is located further along the street at the intersection of Heretaunga Street and Market Street. The Bank of New Zealand, Griffiths Boot Importers and the Bank of New South Wales can be seen in the right foreground.
