Bust portrait of a man, possibly taken in the late nineteenth century. The sitter is posed against a plain backdrop. His gaze is directed to the right of the camera.

The photograph is housed in an album containing photographs of members of the Langley and Thayer families. The name James Watts has been handwritten on the back of the carte-de-visite. The sitter is thought to be James Church Watts.
