About this object
A group portrait of Hamlet players, participants in the Shakespearean Pageant of Havelock North. Dr Frederic De Lisle is pictured as the King. Other cast members are identified on the back of the photograph by their characters: Hamlet, Mr E S Harris; Gravedigger, Mr J Richard; Horatio, Mr W A Meads; Queen, Miss F Lee; Ophelia, Mrs Butler. The other attendant and page boys are unidentified.
The pageant was organised by The Havelock Work group, and took place on 20 November 1912. Proceeds were to go towards liquidating debentures on the Village Hall.
