View of a small town in Westland, possibly taken in the 1860s. The caption on the album page indicates that this was a mining town near Lake Kanieri. The Ballarat Hotel is located on the left side of the photograph. A bridge is located in the foreground. Small timber dwellings are visible along the edge of a watercourse, which is located on the right side of the photograph.
