Printed labels are visible on the table in the foreground. Paste and other items are set out in front of the women. Other workers, both men and women, are visible in the background at work on machinery. Ernest Swailes is visible in the background right of the image, slightly blurred, walking across the bindery floor. A photographer's mark is visible at the bottom right hand corner of the image.
