A photograph of a group of refugees preparing to leave Napier for Wellington following the devastation of the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. Men, women and children are pictured standing at the Napier Railway Station with suitcases. There are motor vehicles parked in a semi circle. Player Brothers signage on the corner of Thackeray and Miller Streets is visible in the distance. The hill and houses are visible in the background of the image.
