View of Hastings Street, Napier, taken from the south end of the street looking north towards Napier Hill, possibly in the late nineteenth century. Among the businesses that are visible along the far side of the street are R Northe, wood and coal yard, an unidentified undertaker and funeral furnisher, and an unidentified baker. A group of people pose for the photograph outside of the wood and coal yard. A horse drawn cart can be seen down the street.
