View of a trench possibly taken during the installation of sewerage pipes in Napier between 1911 and 1914. The photograph has been taken looking along the trench. The trench is lined with timber framing. A note on the back of the photograph reads: Showing volume of water to be dealt with in trench. Trenches from 6 to 19 ft 6 in[ches] deep.
