About this object
A photograph of Herschell Street in Napier taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. The photograph has been taken from the end of Emerson Street, looking towards Bluff Hill. The ruins of the Masonic Hotel are pictured at the left. On the right, the solider from the South African War Memorial lies at the base of the monument.
