Brief Description
Report and contract by J A Louis Hay for Mrs L Edser on the dividing, shifting and adding to cottages in Kennedy Road, dated July 1930.
Contract is between Louis Hay as Architect, Acc. [sic] and Robinson as builders and contractors, and Louis Edser as employer. Contract is to divide, shift and add to existing cottages for a total sum of £1380. The date of completion is given as 15 weeks after acceptance with a £1 per day penalty over this limit and a ninety day maintenance period. Signed by W McCartney as a witness for the employer and W E Cooper as a witness for the contractor on 18 July 1930 with a three pence stamp and one shilling stamp signed 21 July 1930. Included are general conditions of the contract, some of which have been amended and deleted.
Report states that its specifications are for cutting a seven-roomed residence into two parts, shifting each part to designated positions and adding to and altering these parts for Mrs L Edser in accordance with plans prepared by J A Louis Hay. A sketch and calculation are on the inside cover. Includes sections with specifications for bricklayers, carpenters and joiners, plumbers, electricians and painters.
