About this object
A photograph of the site of the Central Hotel on the corner of Emerson and Dalton Streets in Napier taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. The temporary Central Hotel bar can be seen behind the piles of rubble. In the distance, the Dalgety and Company building stands on the corner of Dalton and Dickens Streets.
