About this object
A photograph of the Clive Square gardens with St Patrick's Catholic Church in the background of the image. The limestone framed gardens are in spring bloom with tulips lining the pathways. At the centre is the lily pool, which was placed on the site of the band rotunda damaged in the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. The Phoenix palms are also notable. Several pedestrians are visible enjoying the park near the fountain.
