About this object
A photograph taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. The photograph is thought to have been taken looking down Emerson Street, with the ANZ Building pictured at the left. Smoke from the fires, which broke out after the earthquake, is visible in the photograph.
