Features visible in the photograph include the Municipal Swimming Baths, Tom Parker Memorial Fountain, Marine Parade gardens, Veronica Sunbay, and the Soundshell. Buildings along Marine Parade, Hastings Street, and the upper Central Business District are evident in the right hand side of the image. These include the T and G building, Hawke's Bay Art Gallery and Museum, Blythes, and many others.
