About this object
A photograph of nurses attending to a patient in an outdoors ward after the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. One nurse is sitting. Another is leaning over the female patient who is lying in the iron framed bed. The seated nurse appears to be attending to the patient's arm. The makeshift hospital ward appears to be in the botanic gardens or a similar park. Other beds are visible in the background of the image. Two blurred figures are sitting in the foreground of the image framing the scene.
