About this object
View of the E & D Building built 1929, Napier, taken following the Hawke's Bay earthquake in 1931. The photograph has been taken from the intersection of Emerson Street and Dalton Street. Damage to the building caused by the earthquake and subsequent fires is particularly evident on the ground floor. Rubble is visible on the surrounding streets.
