About this object
An image depicting the tents used as temporary shelter at Napier Racecourse following the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. The racecourse, now Anderson Park, has been turned into a tent city with roads, lighting and amenities. Sugar Loaf Hill is visible in the background of the image at the left.
