About this object
View of Emerson Street, Napier, taken on 12 September 1932. The photograph has been taken from the west end of Emerson Street, looking towards Marine Parade. In the right foreground is the Boylands Building completed 1932. The two sites to the left of the Boylands Building remain covered in rubble. Further along the street Mid City Plaza, the Central Hotel, and the E&D Building are visible. A barrier created using barrels and sandbags has been installed down the centre of the street. The street is occupied by cars and pedestrians.
