Portrait of members of the United Fire Brigades Association who had received Gold Stars for 25 years service. The group is posed in two rows against a painted backdrop. The photograph was possibly taken around 1903.

The sitters are identified on the mount as follows:
Back row: Superintendent J G Gilberd (Napier), Captain T H Battle (Wanganui), Captain J Washer (Roslyn), Foreman R Neale (Nelson), Captain W Lucas (Spit).
Front row: Captain W Toomey (Lyttelton), Superintendent E Smith (Christchurch), Captain T Wimsett (Nelson), Superintendent J Mitchell (Dunedin), Secretary E J Scantlebury (Reefton).
