Portrait, Members of the United Fire Brigades Association who have received Gold Stars for 25 years service. The group is posed in two rows against a painted backdrop. The photograph was taken in Nelson, circa 1903.

The sitters are identified on the card mount as follows:
Back row: Superintendent J G Gilberd (Napier), Captain T H Battle (Wanganui), Captain J Washer (Roslyn), Foreman R Neale (Nelson), Captain W Lucas (Spit).
Front row: Captain W Toomey (Lyttelton), Superintendent E Smith (Christchurch), Captain T Wimsett (Nelson), Superintendent J Mitchell (Dunedin), Secretary E J Scantlebury (Reefton).

On the bottom of the card mount is stamped 'Tyree. Trafalgar St. Nelson NZ'.
