About this object
View of the Napier Volunteer Fire Brigade thought to have been taken on Marine Parade, Napier, around 1921. The 13 men and two boys are posed for the photograph on the back of a fire engine and a motor car. Napier Hill is visible in the background.

The men are from left to right: J T Brock, B Eyles, A Thompson, H Lanning, G Willis, S Minett (Deputy Superintendent), G Reed, W Drieberg (Messenger), W White (Secretary), J C Brock, A Forsyth, W Palmer, E Boardman, J Drieberg and L Pickering (Superintendent).

The appliances are from left: Buick 1918 with pneumatic tyres, 6 cylinder. Dennis 1920, 600 gpm pump, solid rubber tyres.
