Brief Description
a) An information sheet and list of St Peter's staff, Napier West Parish Christian Education Department, February 1974. This list is organised under the following headings: Family Church Teachers; Family Church Supervisors; Reserves; Coffee Morning Convenor; Children's Choir; Absence of Supervisor; Class Area; New Parents or Visitors; Rolls; New Enrolment Slips; Duty Classes; Primary Department; Kindergarten Department; Social Activities.

b) An introduction to Napier West Parish Council, April 1974, including an outline of the structure and objectives of the Executive and sub committees. The Parish Council is made up of the following committees: Executive Committee; Pastoral Committees; Christian Education; Worship; Church and Community; Finance; Thrift Shop; Property and Works.

c) Napier West Parish Report on the Office-Bearers' Retreat held in Havelock North, 6 - 7 April 1974. This report sets out the objectives of the retreat and a summary of six projects that were presented at the final session. It was signed by Dirk R Rinckes on behalf of the Committee.

The first project concerned a recommendation to Session regarding the appointment of a fulltime social worker to Napier West Parish. The second was an initiative by a group of people willing to establish personal contacts with new arrivals in the Parish. The third project was about making more effective use of the Barker Road Hall. The fourth was based on a concern for the church's role in matters relating to the environment and ecology and a desire to have a better appreciation of nature. The fifth project concerned the church's responsibility to address matters of concern of this generation. The last project was about community outreach and understanding, especially in regards to the young Māori.

d) A document regarding the recommendation to Session that a full time social worker be appointed to the Napier West Parish Council. This recommendation was first put forward as a project presented at the Office-Bearers' Conference and, after further consideration and discussion, this document lays out the requirements for such an appointment and the actions to be taken.

e) What About Our Worship, a summary of a paper by Mr Angus Black, Architect, Macandrew Bay. This summary, dated July 1974, is organised under the following headings: What is the purpose of our weekly meeting?; How effective are our meetings?; Lack of fellowship; Disregard of elementary psychology; The one-man-band principle; We use the language of saints which is unreal to most people; Jesus' view; Participation; Prayers; The Bible; Hymns; Communion; The Sermon; A Cuppa; Conclusion.

f) A letter from Rinny Westra to Parents, December 1974. This letter addresses the doubtful future of Pirimai Combined Churches' Sunday School and lists the names of other churches that offer Sunday School programmes.
