About this object
View of swimmers at Day's Bay, Lower Hutt, possibly taken in the early twentieth century. At the centre of the photograph three women dunk a fourth woman into the water. Two young boys stand watching the group. The two boys are likely to be Bill and Arthur Chegwidden. The photograph has been taken looking south towards the Te Motu Kairangi / Miramar Peninsula. Mākaro / Ward Island is visible in the distance on the right side of the photograph.

A note on the album page reads: Day's Bay.
