About this object
A photograph illustrating the damage done to the teacher's residence at Longbush following the Wairarapa earthquake of 24 June 1942. The Shacklock cast iron stove has moved from its fitting in the wall. It appears to be covered in plaster and debris.

The photograph negative is dated 23 June 1942, likely a mistake made in retrospect.
