A photograph depicting the damage to the main street in Wairoa resulting from the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. Teams of people are evident working on clearing and securing buildings badly damaged in the earthquake. A water tank on a flat bed truck is visible at the right hand edge of the photograph. In the distance large groups of people are standing in the street.
