View of Jervois Quay, Wellington, taken from the roof of the General Post Office, possibly in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.

The Bond Store, an 1892 building designed by Frederick de Jersey Clere, is located at the centre of the photograph. The Wellington Harbour Board Wharf Office Building Shed 7, built circa 1896, is located on the extreme left of the photograph. A row of sheds is located to the right of the Bond Store. Post Office Square is visible in the right foreground. The Queens Chambers stands on the corner of Jervois Quay and Grey Street. An advertisement for Huddart Parker Company Limited appears on the roof of the building. A railway line runs along Jervois Quay. A steam train is travelling along the lines. The street is occupied by horse drawn vehicles and pedestrians.

Wellington Harbour is visible in the background.
