About this object
View of the Port of Napier, possibly taken in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
The photograph has been taken from Bluff Hill looking down on the breakwater and Glasgow Wharf. The ship moored beside Glasgow Wharf is probably the Huddart Parker steamer Westralia which was a regular caller between 1897 when she was built and 1919.
A note on the album page reads: Breakwater, Napier.
Photographer, unknown.
