About this object
A photograph of Hastings taken after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. The photograph has been taken looking down Market Street. The collapsed building on the corner of Heretaunga Street is Land and Heighway's saddlery store. The back and side of the wooden two-storied Bank of New South Wales is visible at the left.
