About this object
View of the Sitting Room at the McLean family residence on Napier Terrace, Napier. The photograph has been taken from one end of the room looking towards the entrance door. The door is open. A fireplace with a carved timber surround and mantle is located on the right side of the room. The mantle is fitted with a large mirror. The walls of the surrounding room are papered. A scenic frieze runs around the top of the walls. The walls are hung with framed pictures. A framed convex mirror is located on one wall. The room is amply furnished with chairs, tables and cabinets in various styles.

A note pasted onto the album page beneath the photograph reads: Drawing room. Looking South.
