About this object
View of the Kuripapango Valley in Hawke's Bay. The Ngaruroro River is located in the foreground. On the left side of the photograph is a temporary suspension bridge that was built in August 1897 after a flood washed the main bridge away on Good Friday of that year. This bridge remained in place until 1903 when it was relocated to become the Rangitikei Bridge. The second bridge on the right is thought to have been built in March 1899. A homestead is visible on the other side of the river.
