About this object
A photograph of the opening of the Makotuku Saleyards, 30 November 1910. In the foreground men are standing with their dogs along the fence line of pens filled with sheep. Men are seated and standing on the other edges of the holding pen. A stand of trees and a building are visible in the background of the image. D A Baxter, then the manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, is believed to be one of the men pictured in the photograph.
