Brief Description
The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volume 68, number 281, was published on 15 August 1916 and edited by Charles Holme. The magazine contains numerous advertisements for galleries, manufacturers, art supplies and art schools, as well as illustrated articles, exhibition and book reviews. A number of pages are missing from this magazine, including all colour supplements save one.

The Contents include: Some Pastels by Mr George Sheringham, an article by W K West including eleven illustrations; Recent Portraits by Mr P A de László, an article by A L Baldry including nine illustrations; Recent Designs in Domestic Architecture, an article including six illustrations and six plans; Garden Sundials, fifteen illustrations; Toys at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, an article by Allen W Seaby; Studio-Talk, a section devoted to exhibition reviews from correspondents in London, Paris, Moscow, Amsterdam, Philadelphia and Cairo; Reviews and Notices; The Lay Figure: On New Fields for Artists and Craftsmen.
