Brief Description
The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volume 68, number 280, was published on 15 July 1916 and edited by Charles Holme. The magazine contains numerous advertisements for galleries, manufacturers, art supplies and art schools, as well as illustrated articles, exhibition and book reviews. A number of pages are missing from this magazine, including the entire section of etchings by Zorn, the article by George C Williamson, the entire section of figure studies by Herbert Draper and four out of six colour supplements.

The Contents include: Some Water-Colour Drawings by George Henry, A R A, an article by J Taylor including eight illustrations; Recent Etchings by Zorn, nine illustrations; Miniatures in the Pierpont Morgan Collection IV: A Portrait of Washington Irving, an article by Dr George C Williamson including one illustration; The Line Drawings of Charles E Brock, R I, an article by A E Johnson including nine illustrations; Figure Studies by Herbert Draper, eight illustrations; Studio-Talk, a section devoted to exhibition reviews from correspondents in London, Edinburgh and Milan; Reviews and Notices; The Lay Figure: On Art and Affectation.
